12:30 to 1:30 each day we have our oldest class, which fluctuates between 3 and 7 students, depending on the day. The regulars are Wendy, Grady, and Stacey and other staff members like the head ayi, Nurse Song, an ayi's daughter, and the accounting assistant come when it fits into their work schedules. Every day is different with this class and the *wide* variety of levels here definitely keep us thinking on our feet. :) On Friday we finished up our unit on hobbies and this week we should be starting a personal scrapbook project with them. Hopefully they will enjoy that...we shall see!
The hardest part of this class, besides the different skill ranges, are the fluctuating emotions and attitudes. With older orphans come lots of past sorrows and buried hurts which often impact how these three interact with us (or don't). G0d's grace has carried us through, though, and we just pr*y that He will use us to touch their hearts and soften them towards His G0spel that can alone heal and comfort them. So if you think of it, you all can be pr*ying along these lines too! These kids scars are deep, but G0d's grace and love are so much greater! We just pr*y that we can show them that while we are here.
Enjoy "meeting" these treasures now!

| Wendy. She is so smart and always has the highest number of grammatically correct sentences (when we have them practice writing) of anyone else in the class. She has so much potential...we pr*y she realizes that! |
 |
| Nurse Song...one of our "sometimes students". She comes whenever she's free from her work at the clinic and always blesses us with her smiley personality (even if she can't understand most of what we say!). She told me I was "beautiful" on the first day of class and that's pretty much all the English I've heard from her yet! |
 |
| Stacey. She is such a smiley young woman and takes her studies very seriously, copying down everything we write on the board and diligently practicing her English pronunciation. |
 |
| And, of course, Grady! Primary is his usual class, but for English he also takes this advanced class with Stacey and Wendy. He loves to good-naturedly tease Melissa and I and is always excited about learning new words. |
Precious precious students!!! I know they are enjoying every minute with you! LOVE seeing them!!!
