Asking "Why"

Today for ch*rch we interns and Sara stayed in and did "home ch*rch" with a serm*n about disabilities by John Piper. It was amazing how much his message spoke to what we experience here every day serving and loving on special-needs orphans. We see these needy children who lack so many healthy, normal functions and ask G0d "why"....why did He create them with so much brokeness, why doesn't He heal them immediately, etc.? But to our questions G0d brings us the sweet truths of John 9:1-4. He allows suffering...and more than that He *purposes*....it to display His glory and His good works to the world. J*sus, our suffering servant King, who bore all anguish and sorrow and pain on the cr*ss, uses disability and weakness on earth to show His strength and power. We don't always understand it, and may never until we are free from all sorrow and sin in Heaven one day, but through my experiences with these precious kids I do believe with all my heart that G0d does glorify Himself through disability in very special and unique ways. I'm sharing the link to this serm*n in hopes that it will challenge and bless you as it did us this morning. May we all see broken human beings as He does, with a heart overflowing with His love and grace and compassion!
